Alexander Zverev has qualified for the first round of the 2022 Australian Open after facing fierce resistance from a fellow German tennis player, Daniel Altmaier, with a score of 7-6 (3), 6-1, 7-6 (1). The match lasted for 2 hours 38 minutes.

Zverev leads 3-2 in points but is constantly being made to work hard throughout the new game. There have been no breakpoints throughout the first set.

Zverev scored the game’s points with a lethal combination of long and wide serve followed by a powerful two-handed backhand deep into the opposite corner.

Altmaier could not reply, Zverev leading 5-4. Altmaier impressively renders the game a deuce.

He was able to destroy the ace’s serve in the middle to attempt a trick drop shot.

After many game points in that fierce game, Zverev finally got the closing point with an overhead punch. Zverev was ahead 6-5 in the first set with a duration of 63 minutes.
