Red Bull Racing chose Sergio Perez to race in the 2021 Formula 1 competition. He replaces Alexander Albon.
Red Bull Racing has solidified its driver composition for F1 2021. Sergio Perez, who previously raced for BWT Racing Point, was recruited to replace Albon.
Sergio Perez has contracted for one year. He will be a teammate of Max Verstappen.
‘I am very grateful to Red Bull for allowing racing in the 2021 season,’ said Sergio Perez in the official release of the Red Bull Racing team.
‘The opportunity to race for the winning candidate team (constructors) is something I have hoped for since I first started working in F1.’
‘It will be a proud moment to step onto the grid in a Red Bull shirt with Max Verstappen,’ the man from Mexico continued.
Alexander Albon remains at Red Bull Racing. This Thai-British man has a new role, according to team officials, namely Christian Horner.
‘Alex remains an important part of our team as a test and reserve rider,’ Horner explained.
‘His main focus is developing a car for the 2022 season, and we want to thank him for the work and contributions he has given,’ confirmed Horner.
